Third, the Angle (θ) between the force vector and the lever arm affects how efficiently the force generates rotation. When the force is applied perpendicular to the lever arm (90°), sin(90°) = 1, maximizing the torque. At other angles, the effective torque is reduced by the sine of that angle. This is why you instinctively push perpendicular to a door when opening it.
